Bubba Has Succeeded
He has finally talked me into (actually I want to) going to a VERY crowded place where people will be drunk, high etc etc, bumping into me and invading my personal space constantly. Where would this be? The Rolling Stones/Metallica concert!! He won tickets from his work and he is oh so very excited! I am too, but the thought of people bumping into me every second and possibly being gobbled up in a sea of people almost sends me into hyperventilation.
Allow me to take you back to New Year's 2001.....Bubba, myself and a bunch of friends got the wild idea to go to Las Vegas for New Year's. FUN!! However, this is where I discovered that I was claustraphobic!!! I was fine the entire evening until the fireworks went off and everyone on the strip, at the same time, decided it was time to go on home. It honestly turned into utter chaos! You could not lean right, left, forward or backward without the entire sea of people doing it at the exact same time! I did not like this one bit! Bubba is 6'4", so he had no problem....he can see over everyone's heads and breathe like a normal person. I however, am 5'5", so I blend in with every other shmo out there. I could not see anything, except for people freaking out all around me. A 10 year old boy and his dad were next to me and the little boy passed out and fell. Everyone started trampling over him! It was awful!!! Luckily his dad was able to fend people off for a second to get him to his feet and hold him up. This is when I lost it!! My imagination got the best of me. I could just see myself tripping and that would be it! I freaked! Bubba literally picked me up and carried me through everyone and seriously threw me onto the grass of the Bellagio. After about 20-30 min I regained my composure and the crowd had dissipated. I have not gone near a huge crowd like that since.
I'm trying not to freak myself out about this. I'm hoping to grow a pair of balls by Sunday, so I can accompany my Bubba to this concert.
