Fat Fingers
I keep getting a red rash thingy underneath my wedding ring. It's been off and on for the past month. I was teasing Bubba saying that I was allergic to his rings he gave me...almost 5 years ago. My rings are white gold so I was thinking maybe I have started an allergic reaction to them or something. I took them into the jeweler today to be cleaned and asked why I would be getting that rash thingy under my rings. She looks at me and says "Well, its usually because they are too tight for your fingers. Have you gained any weight since this has started?"
Me:I was stunned! I looked at her and said "Well, yes, but only 5lbs."
Jeweler: She looked at me like I was lying and said with a haughty tone to her voice "Well, just start watching what you eat and I'm sure you won't have anymore problems. If not, just come back and we'll size it for you."
Me: "Okay, thanks."
Okay, people. I'm probably PMSing, but don't you think she was a little out of line saying that? She could've just said "It's probably a little tight and we can size it for you if you'd like." Is that too much to ask? She didn't need to tell me to watch what I eat....right? I didn't need to be reminded by a complete stranger, that I've gained a few over the last few months. I'm telling myself not to get too worked up over this, but c'mon, I'm a girl!
***I just re-read this post and I'll admit, I'm being a little over dramatic.***

No, I don't think you're being overly dramatic... I look at it this way: You go to the jeweler for one reason... And that reason is JEWELRY. If you wanted health and diet advice you'd have gone to the doctor. That bitch should have just said, "Oh, I've seen this before, and it might just be that the ring is a little tight, we can size it and everything will be fine."
you're not being over dramatic. That bitchy jeweler took a romantic thing (your wedding ring) and tried to make you feel badly about it. I hate her.
I also don't think you were being overly dramatic. The woman was a bitch.
You really need to delete that part about you being over-dramatic. If anything you are being UNDER dramatic! I want to know what this biatch was thinking and also why you didn't just leave and tell her and the rest of the store that you were never going back there AGAIN!
I'm with Marcia.
I.HATE.THAT.WOMAN!
And by the by...
I don't believe you that you've gained. I just saw you Sunday and I thought you had lost.
UMMmmmmm....yeah. My Bitchdar totally was off the charts on that one!
I agree, you were not over dramatic (or over-sensitive, or over-anything). She was completely out of line, and I think you should email her boss-person. They need to know what type of ppl are workin for them.
I agree with the rest of 'em. She was totally OUT OF LINE!!
And, by the way, I have had the same problem with the rashiness on my ring finger. I guess maybe it's time I got my rings re-sized, too!
I would obsess about that snarky rude comment for months, so I don't think you are being overdramatic at all. She was way out of line.
