Over It!!

I was on the phone with one of my many sisters last night and somehow we got on the subject of how when you have kids you don't have time to keep in touch with old friends etc. Let me just put it out there that I know moms are way busy, but I think its shit that you use that as your excuse to not keep in touch with friends/family. No, I'm not bitter that I don't have kids, so get that thought out of your mind. I would hear this shitty excuse when I was single and all my friends were married and they suddenly didn't have time to talk to you anymore. Seriously, grow some balls and "break up" with that friend if you don't have anything in common or whatever the case may be. The fact is, if you have people in your life you supposedly care about, you should make the effort to keep it touch. Last I checked friendship, or any relationship, isn't suppose to be one sided. I am pretty much the only one out of all my friends that doesn't have kids yet. There's only one that I talk to on a regular basis...at least once a week. And, its not always me calling her. All my other friends, if I didn't call them I would never hear from them. When I call we have great conversation and everything is honky dory, but if I don't call them I don't hear from them. I've even went so far as "experimenting" to see how long it would take until one of them took the initiative and called me.....still waiting....been about 2 mos. I have a sister I haven't talked to since Christmas....still waiting for a call back. I have so much more to say on this subject, but why bother, it certainly won't change anything.

I know EXACTLY what you mean! Mine is more so with family as I don't really have alot of "friends". But it pisses me off!! ESPECIALLY my sister. She'll sit at work all day and send me 5 billion FWD emails but won't take the time to send one that says hello, nor does she call me, unless she needs something, 99% of the time I call her. Same with my mom, and my brother, I don't even bother any more. It sucks, I agree, but like you said, saying anything certaintly won't change anything.

Holy crap.
It wasn't me you were talking to right?
Because I don't think I would say something as dumbass as that.
We need to talk about this one.

I was just bitching to my husband about that...you took the words right out of my brain.

Not sure how I found your blog-but this post totally caught my eye.
