Sextuplets!!

Did I scare you? No, I'm not having sextuplets. However, I did produce six eggs on Clomid. I'll start from the beginning and I'll even give you the condensed version.

At the end of June, I went to my infertility appt. Yada, yada, yada (does anyone say that anymore?) She gave me the lowest dose of Clomid (fertility drug, the one that turned me into the exorcist last year) to start taking on day 4 of my "cycle". I took that for 5 lovely days. Then on day 13 of my cycle I went back to the doctor for an ultrasound. Basically they shove that thing (wand thingy) up my chooch to check out what my ovaries were up to. Turns out that I'm "sensitive" to the Clomid....so if I start my period next month they will not increase my dose like they normally would. I produced 4 "mature follicles" on the right ovary and 2 "mature follicles" on the left ovary. So after the fun was all over the assistant came in and gave me a shot of HCG in me bum. HCG makes you ovulate within 24 hrs. So, Bubba and I got "busy" the next few days. And, now its a waiting game. If I get my period it will be next Tues or Wed.

So, now the part you've all been waiting for.......So, Holly, did you freak out on the Clomid again? Answer: No, not mentally this time. No funny breakdown stories to tell. However, physically I'm jacked up. I've diagnosed myself with chronic fatigue syndrome. I seriously don't think I've ever been so damn tired in my life! To keep my eyes open was a struggle, to walk or move any muscle was a struggle. And, that HCG made me have major abdominal cramping....like I was gonna start my period. Apparently, that's what ovulating feels like....who knew? Also, when we were told to have sex is when I was having all those problems with my back. So, in order to "do it" I had to drug myself up so I could "move". Cuz, who wants to hump a fish? ( I love that word "hump"....doesn't it remind you of 6th grade?)

I'm so excited for you!! Did I ever tell you that I'm a Clomid baby? Because I am.

One of my good friends here in STL is about to try her 4th IUI with Clomid. You might want to check out her blog. She's smart and funny.
